Chestnut colt foaled May 10, 2023

(Lexitonian x Rochelle Rochelle, by Mizzen Mast)

  • From the first crop of Grade 1 winner LEXITONIAN, a Calumet Farm homebred son of champion sprinter and influential sire SPEIGHTSTOWN.

  • First yearlings to sell thus far include colts for $80,000 and $60,000, and fillies for $65,000, $62,000, $55,000, and $50,000.

  • A maiden winner at Belmont first time out at two (in :57.95), LEXITONIAN’s wins included the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt at Saratoga; he was second by a nose in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby at Del Mar, and by a head in the Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes.

  • SPEIGHTSTOWN’s other sons at stud include the highly successful MUNNINGS (sire of over 75 stakes winners, including 27 Graded Stakes winners), and CHARLATAN, whose first crop yearlings have so far averaged $355,208 including the $1.5-million colt sold to Resolute Bloodstock at Saratoga.

  • SPEIGHTSTOWN has sired 6 champions, over 60 graded winners and nearly 150 stakes winners total; his runners average earnings are $131,171.

  • Out of a winning dam; she has produced stakes-placed winner FLEETWOOD SHAC, who was never off the board, winning his maiden by over 7 lengths.

  • Second dam a multiple stakes winner sprinter on the dirt; she is the dam of 9 foals to race, all winners, including stakes placed TWO CHARLEY’S, a winner of nearly $200,000 and on the board in 14 of 19 starts.

  • His fourth dam was a solid race mare with 13 wins, and another 22 placings in 57 starts, winning over $330,000 in the Northwest and California.

  • This yearling has the same cross of Mr. Prospector and Seattle Slew on the female side found in several of SPEIGHTSTOWN’s best runners, including Grade 1 winners TAMARKUZ and OLYMPIAD.

  • This colt descends from REMEMBRANCE, a key mare for the Whitney family and ancestress of Kentucky Derby and Belmont winner TWENTY GRAND, champions QUILL, ONE FOR ALL, RUN THE GAUNTLET, classic winners & sires VETTORI and AVATAR, G1 winner HAWKSTER, etc.
